Dolpo Trekking

The trekking in Dolpo region begins from Juphal airport, after flying from Nepalgunj. Then it heads through the Dunai, which is also a district headquarter. Two types of trekking are popular in the Dolpo Trekking: Upper Dolpo and the lower Dolpo. The diverse attractions of the trail and the superb views have made the trekking superb. The Shey-Phoksundo lake, National Park, Monasteries and Chhortens, unique ethnic villages, Himalayan passes, Himalayan views and the Tibetan similar desert landscape are the features of the Dolpo region trekking. The hospitality of the local people is distinct. The flora and fauna found in the Shey-Phoksundo National Park is diverse. Rhododendron, Salix, juniper, meadows, blue pine, spruce, hemlock and bamboos are found in the flora species. The wild animals include snow leopard, musk deer, and blue sheep, Ghoral, Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan Black Bear, 29 butterfly species and 200 species of birds.
